Welcome to Sir William Mackenzie Inn

 
Sitting 75 minutes north east of Toronto & the GTA, in the village of Kirkfield, this grand estate was the home of Sir William Mackenzie, best known as co-founder of the Canadian Northern (National) Railway. Our Country Inn is situated on 13 acres of woods and gardens, the Inn has been designated an historical site by Parks Canada.

This historic property has had a colourful history, including nearly 50 years as a convent and school after Sir William’s death in 1923. Originally built in 1888, Sir William and Lady Mackenzie entertained many notable figures, including Prime Ministers and European aristocrats.
